Holidaze

Hi everyone,

I just spent half my November in Arizona with my parents and I got a bit behind. I finished my follow-ups with the theatrical agents and managers on my list and I received some responses. I received at least 4 or 5 responses from managers that said they don’t have room on the roster right now but that they might in the new year. I’m doing all that I can to move my career forward.

Now I’ve added musical theatre coaching to my arsenal with Kevin and Natalie of The Connected Performer and I’m starting this month! Their website is: http://theconnectedperformer.com/ I’ve already cleaned up my song book. Kevin and Natalie are dear friends of Emily Grace, whose Relationship Ramp-Up program I took. And I’m still using those templates! Also, Heidi Dean, social media guru for actors, is friends with all of them and I took her webinar over a month ago and her site is https://marketing4actors.com/. She also has a YouTube channel with social media tips that I should watch way more of: https://www.youtube.com/c/HeidiDean/featured

I’ve been doing a significant number of theatre self-tapes and I hope to get myself cast soon. I’m back in scene study class with Chris Game, Casting Director/Actor/Creator/Runner/Author/Force of Nature. I took his How To Book Everything Class two years ago and he’s really fixed my bad habits. He teaches classes, does solo coaching sessions, and self-tapes. Chris also has a great part in the upcoming film, One Night In Miami. It’s really funny having acting class online. I also took the first Bite and Smile class with Lori Medlin. Seriously, eating and drinking on-camera and then talking and smiling is really hard. And on that topic, I got my first commercial audition through my new agent and it was a self-tape for a company you know well. I edited together a slate and three takes and I was seriously proud of myself.

And now it’s December… I’m not usually happy to see a year go but I will be glad to be done with this one. I have made great breakthroughs and met vital colleagues but the pandemic that facilitated this meant the deaths of so many and a real hit to my finances. And I never want to see a repeat of that or the wild fires or the murder hornets or the snake-size poisonous worms (I’m serious.)

  1. November really didn’t have big highlights- here are some of them:

    1. Peppermint Mochas is back at Starbucks
    2. Reading- Little Women, Some Hans Christian Anderson, A Christmas Treasury
    3. Thanksgiving of course

    Just a few
